Directed by Kim Dae-woo, Hidden Face is a remake of the Spanish-Colombian thriller La cara oculta. The film tells the story of an orchestra conductor whose fiancée suddenly disappears, leaving only a video message behind. As he begins a relationship with her replacement, he becomes increasingly convinced that they are being watched. Unbeknownst to them, the missing woman remains trapped in a hidden room in the house and is forced to witness the events that unfold.

Thanks to its central visual concept, the film blends erotic tension with psychological suspense. The house functions as both a living space and a jail with a view, structured around concealed architecture and reflective surfaces. This creates a constant tension between visibility and concealment, as the characters move freely in spaces that are secretly being observed from within.

Rather than relying on external action, Hidden Face generates tension through confinement and observation. The contrast between the open living spaces and the sealed, hidden room generates a constant sense of entrapment, shifting the focus of the film from physical threat to psychological exposure and the inability to escape one’s own actions.
